Frequently Asked Questions

How can I help support your kittens?

Directly support my kittens:

You can buy food or other supplies directly for them via my Amazon wish list.

You can send a donation through venmo @ thekittenfoster

Support the rescue that I volunteer with:

You can donate to support COFAS! You can mention that you'd like to support our efforts or let us know which kitten you're donating in honor of.  I don't receive these funds, but they will be put to good use to help other kittens and cats in need.

Your generosity helps us rescue more kittens! THANK YOU.

How can I adopt your kittens?

At this time, I only adopt out locally in the Atlanta, GA area.

Find out more about adoption at the COFAS website! There is an application process to adopt one of my kittens.

All of our cats and kittens are fostered in homes so we know their personalities. They are spayed or neutered, tested for FIV and FeLV, up to date on shots, microchipped, de-wormed, and on flea preventative. Our goal is to match our fosters with the best home possible. The adoption fees for our felines are as follows: $100 for kittens (or 2 for $170); $85 for adult cats (or 2 for $150); and $50 each for our special seniors/FIV+ kitties. Please email cofaspets@gmail.com for more information. Not yet ready to adopt? You can sponsor a pet now to help pay for medical expenses, special diets, toys and treats, emergency medical care, etc. Our adoption fee rarely covers our expenses, so any size donation is appreciated! You can donate directly to COFAS by check or Paypal by visiting our website at www.cofas.org/donateathenscats

Which rescue do you work with?

How can I start fostering?

Please check with your local animal shelter or local animal rescues. They oftentimes have foster programs that you can apply to join. They will typically cover the cost of their care, but every program will differ on what that entails. Reach out to them to learn more about their program and see if it's the right fit for you!

Do you get paid to foster?

No, I volunteer as a foster. All donations I receive or income from social media or affiliate links go towards the care of my fosters. I buy all of their food, litter, toys, and pay for their emergency vet visits.

I found kittens - can I give them to you?

Unfortunately, I won't be able to take in kittens outside of my local area and most of the time, I'm at full kitten capacity.

Please try to foster the kittens through a rescue or shelter! You never know, you may find your passion in fostering like I did. If not, you can reach out to them to see if they can help.

How did you start fostering?

In 2016, a nice person on my university reddit forum posted that he found a kitten crying alone in the bushes. He couldn't keep the kitten but also didn't want to bring him to the shelter either. I reached out to him and picked up a tiny little black tuxedo kitten. I just adopted a kitten name Athena a few months ago from COFAS, so I reached out to them for help. That's how my fostering journey began. I never expected it to be such a huge part of my life but I'm so glad it is.

Do you have any pets of your own?

Yes! I have two cats that I adopted as kittens from two different rescues. Butters is my first ever pet and I adopted him 7 years ago from an amazing person that rescued his pregnant mom. He went into foster care at her friend's home and his mom gave birth to 5 beautiful baby kittens in a bathtub. I got to pick him out of the bunch. The others were so cute, but something about him just felt like he's the one. He's the sweetest, most loving cat and he's the reason I fell in love with cats in general. I was actually going to PetSmart to buy food for Butters when I stumbled on the adoption center. In a tiny perch sat the tiniest little orange tabby. fast asleep. When I took a picture of her, she woke up and place her little paw on the glass staring straight at me. My heart exploded into a million pieces and I had to adopt her. Moral of the story is that I went to PetSmart for food and came back with a kitten. It's also how I met the rescue I work with now, COFAS.
